A Prayer For Peace and Protection

I don't really know where to begin with this post today. My heart goes out to the family and friends of the people of Newtown, CT. No amount of words can heal this type of hurt. I mean really, what can you say to someone who has just had their loved ones ripped from them with no type of warning. Even with a warning, it still hurts.

When I first heard the news of this tragedy, I knew it was going to be a hot topic in the news so I choose to read about it a few hours later. I knew this type of life changing event could be down right depressing if it was continually poured into my consciousness. But how could I not be aware of this nonsense? I finally read about it around 3pm even though my coworkers were keeping up on the latest developments.

I decided to catch the last word on it for the day on the evening news. Even then I didn't watch it for too long. I just couldn't imagine what those parents must have been going through knowing they would see their children again. Even the ones who survived through it will have this event imprinted on their memory.

My spiritual teacher, Bishop Dr. Barbara King, just said the other day that a person's body can be physically in front of you but their mind can be somewhere else.

We may never know what was on the shooter's mind in this tragedy. Please pray for peace on Earth because we surely do need it.

Here is the Prayer of Protection (Adapted from James Dillet Freeman) that you can use on a daily basis:

The Light of God surrounds us.
The Love of God enfolds us.
The Power of God protects us.
The Presence of God watches over us.
Wherever I am, God is.
Wherever you are, God is.

May God be with you!

I Can See The Transformation!

The last post I put on my blog (Thinking From A Higher Level) is something I actually started working on a few weeks ago. Almost a month ago to be exact. So much has happened since then and my attention was NOT focused on what I said I would do and that was to blog.

Although my consciousness was definitely expanded because I was taking in plenty of knowledge and wisdom, I was not doing the best at being an outlet of the information I had received. That is what this blog is for. It is a way for me to express my self, my real self, my higher self, and to hopefully bless someone else in the process.

See, when I don't write or express myself, I feel...empty, weak, and bored. Life becomes a routine for me and I need to be able to create in order to break the monotony of life. As Bishop Carlton Pearson says, "We were created, we are creative, and we are creating all the time because that is our nature."

When I go to work on my day job, I am helping someone else express what they've chosen to create. My work day consists of helping lots of people in various situations in the transportation industry and being a leader to my co-workers.  There are all sorts of dynamics involved in my job. It can be fun and it can be boring but at the end of the day it is someone else's creation, not mine.

In order for me to feel fulfilled, I need to "mind my own business" as Robert Kyosaki says, and find the time to do the things that bring me joy and happiness. What I have noticed, and I wrote this in a previous blog, is that when I begin to do the things I enjoy doing consistently, the tasks that are mundane and routine, don't bother me as much. Maybe its because my whole being wants to get back to creating because it felt great to express myself. It could also be that I am living on purpose when I express myself.

I can definitely tell you during this last month, I noticed the difference. I'm sure there was an element of procrastination. Ok, I'll just call it what it was...procrastination.

I was procrastinating!

There is no way I should have less than 10 posts this month. It is totally unacceptable and there is nothing wrong with demanding more of my Self. I am capable to do much more than what I'm putting out. Its kinda like a faucet being turned on fully in a tub and the drain being open just slightly. There is no balance and eventually the tub will overflow because not enough water is being released.

More is going in than coming out.

Now I think I'm done putting myself in the headlock about this. Its time to take action. I will put this as an action item in my daily planner (which I should have done long ago!) so that I will be reminded to post something every day. As time goes on, it will be new habit, and eventually, who knows, maybe all my posts will turn into a book. It could happen!!!

So look at the areas of your life honestly and see where you've been falling short. Are you doing something everyday that is fulfilling to you? If not, then you need to start putting a program into practice to get you to that point as quick as possible. Your sanity depends on it!!!

Have a great day!

Thinking From A Higher Level

Our minds are wonderful. It has been said that we only use about 10% of our mind's total ability. Can you imagine if we could get that percentage up to 15%?

I certainly believe we can use more!

So how do we do it? We can start by realizing that we a connected to everyone and everything. There is a universal energy that we are all connected to. Most people call it God. Some people calls Spirit. Others call it Divine Mind or Infinite Intelligence.

What we must do is focus our thoughts on this energy that dwells within us. Jesus said seek first the Kingdom of Heaven and then all things shall be added to you. He also said The Kingdom of Heaven was within us so why do we spend so much time looking outside of ourselves for it?

The Kingdom of Heaven is right where we are. I didn't make that up myself either. (Luke 17:21)

Have a great day!

Living From The Inside Out

Be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind - Romans 12:2

In the grand scheme of things, there are only two things that exist, mind and thought. Everything that exists was either created by God (or Divine Mind) or the mind of man. We have the power to create our reality whether we know it or not. We can influence our circumstances and our environment by consciously thinking different thoughts. When we continually think thoughts of peace, love, life, wisdom, and/or joy then our world has to respond. It has no choice in the matter because we are in control of it and not the other way around.

I've heard it said this way: either you are consciously creating your own reality or living in a reality created by someone else. I don't know about you but the latter doesn't sound good to me at all.

On my way to work one day, I was listening to some affirmations I recorded on health. The one that resonated with me the most was "I create only peaceful experiences because I love myself. All is well." by Louise Hay. All day I focused on this thought as much as possible.

The end result was a more peaceful work environment.

Living from the inside out means controlling your thoughts (Cause) to manifest the desired outcome in your circumstances (Effect). Too many times we focus on the Effect and take our minds off the Cause. If we want a different Effect, then we must have a different Cause.

There is no other way.

This law of Cause and Effect is a universal law like the law of gravity but on a different plane. Universal laws are based on undeniable principles and they cannot be changed.

Right now I'm working on keeping my thoughts centered on the Source of my being at all times. I expect more love and joy to be realized in my experience on a day to day basis.

If I Turn The Other Cheek, Will You Slap Me Again?

I recently have been experiencing a  challenge with a certain person who is purposely trying to harm me. Some people have asked me why this person is behaving in such an insensitive manor. I cannot honestly answer that question. I have learned that people are going to be who they are and I can change someone else. They have to be willing to change and then they must take action to change themselves. It doesn't work any other way.

What we must do when someone does us harm or tries to hurt us is "turn the other cheek."

I know your probably thinking, "Why should I let someone continue to harm me?" Don't get me wrong. I'm not say to go out and be somebody's punching bag. Neither am I saying don't defend yourself either because truthfully if you put your hands on me, all bets are off! God is still working with me on that and I haven't reached the mentality of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. yet. One day I may get there but Im sure its not today.

So what does all this "turn the other cheek" business mean anyway? Metaphysically it means to turn to your Spiritual Self, the Infinite Intelligence, the Christ Self, or the Subconscious.

Is this easy? Absolutely not. It takes alot of practice to think from this level especially since one of the first things we must do is forgive the very person who offended us. Then we must forgive ourselves for getting upset. Forgiveness is not and easy process and it will take a while before you can get to the point where the source of the agitation doesn't bother you. How long you ask? Jesus in his teachings said 70 times 77 which to me means as long as it takes (Matt 18:22).

Remember its your peace of mind that is at stake. Not the other person's. Oftentimes people don't even know they've upset us. We're the ones who harbor the feelings and emotions and we end up making ourselves upset for long periods of time and this is unhealthy. That's why its important to not only forgive the other person but to forgive ourselves too.

I hope this message helps somebody today. As for me I'm going to go work on my 70 times 77!

Have a great day!

What Is Metaphysics?

In my search to give you some content and background on metaphysics today, I came across this article by Julie Lewin. Enjoy!

What Is Metaphysics?

By Julie Lewin
http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Julie_Lewin

Metaphysics isn't physics. It's a branch of philosophy that attempts to explain the fundamental nature of being. It examines the true nature of being and reality, whether visible or invisible. It includes the power of thought to create (the relationship between mind and matter), intelligent consciousness and more.

It is a form of spirituality, but it is not a religion.

There are many different spiritual practices worldwide that are metaphysical in nature:

  • yoga
  • meditation
  • even prayer

which can transcend religious belief and become the process of attaining unity with all there is.

The word comes from the Greek 'meta' (beyond) and 'physika' (physics) - the science of what is beyond the physical. Aristotle coined the term, but he credits earlier philosophers with the teachings that all things derive from a single first cause.

Much of what is taught in metaphysics cannot be understood by the logical mind.

You probably have your own metaphysical questions:

  • What is the meaning of life?
  • Why am I here?
  • What is reality?
  • What is my purpose?
  • What is God?
  • Is there more than this physical existence?
  • What is consciousness?
  • How was everything created?

... and more...

A lot of metaphysical study is done through introspection, usually meditation.

Metaphysics is above all a process of self-discovery!

Ultimately, you arrive at your own truth - no matter what any spiritual teacher may tell you. Even the Buddha said, "believe nothing, even if it comes from me." What that means is not that there is no one truth - truth is as individual as the way we each perceive the world.

Confused? Understandably! This is what metaphysics attempts to explain.

Or rather... you will learn how to explain these questions for yourself.

Metaphysical studies teach you some important concepts:

You already possess all the knowledge you need. It is within you. You are connected to God, or Infinite Being, or Source, Creator, Consciousness, Energy, Force... whatever name you give the power that created everything.

Metaphysics will push the limits of your beliefs and allow you to explore alternative beliefs - and ultimately allow you to come to a truth that is pure and unbiased.

What does metaphysics teach you?

Metaphysics teaches you to be truly open-minded to new ideas, possibilities and interpretations. On some level, even the wisest of us is constrained by conditioned beliefs we don't even know we possess. Meditation and other metaphysical practices help us identify these conditioned beliefs and delete them.

Metaphysics explores the concepts duality and non-duality.

Our perceptions of the world are challenged in metaphysics.

To become open-minded is to be open to alternative perspectives and to look beyond words and our physical experience to the true nature of things.

These are the sorts of fun discussions you can have with yourself about the nature of being and the nature of reality.

Let your heart guide you in your explorations - your higher self already knows exactly what you need to be learning at this point in time. As you gain more and more of these sorts of insights, you will take down the walls of limited thinking, brick by brick.

And then, the understanding of the true nature of being will be clearer to you.

Metaphysics is a fascinating journey beyond the physical world. As you study its principles and ponder the questions that the logical mind cannot comprehend you learn a lot about yourself and your true nature in the process.

I Can't Change You But...

I can change my attitude about you. I have the power to change how I see you at any moment. I can use my power of imagination to "see you in a different light". I can use my power of love to send you loving energy now matter what's going on or where I am.

Perception is reality so how I see you in my mind's eye is how you are in reality...to me. You may be a really nice person but I see you as a jerk then guess what? To me you are a jerk.

So is it easier to change me or to change you?

I can't change you so why try? I can however change my thoughts about you because that's all I have 100% control of is my thoughts. That is the kingdom we each rule whether we realize it or not...the kingdom of our thoughts.

By changing our thoughts we can change our circumstance and environment. If something or someone comes on your path we can immediately ask ourselves, "What has this person or thing come to teach me? What is the lesson I need to learn from this?"

If you ask, you will get an answer.

I Caught Myself Just In The Nick Of Time!

Our minds are creating all the time. One of the most important times for creating is the first 30 minutes of day after waking up. It has been said your day could be likened to a ship and the first 30 minutes is the rotor of the day. This period of time sets the direction for your day.

I found myself waking up the other day with some less than desirable thoughts. Since I have been consciously working on observing my thoughts, I knew I didn't want to experience the effects of these thoughts. The thoughts and ideas that come from our minds are the Cause side of the equation and what we experience in our environment are the Effects of those Causes.

Its has been said so many ways:

"As a man thinketh, so is he."

"You become what you think about all day long"

"Imagination is the scissors of the mind"

"Where ever the mind goes, the behind follows!"

So I decided to not allow the thoughts to take root in my mind and create a mess. I decided to consciously focus on higher level thoughts such as life, love, wisdom, joy, omnipotence, omnipresence, and omniscience.

The end result of training my mind to think on these type of thoughts was a very peaceful day...but it all started in that first 30 minutes.

How To Turn Chaos Into Harmony

Good morning World! Today I wanted to piggyback on what I was discussing yesterday about God not being the author of confusion. Let's say the confusion already exists or someone or something is attempting to bring chaos into your existence.

We have a choice.

We could either get upset and fight against the thing or person that is the source of the chaos (and that source could possibly us as well) or we can do as the Bible states and "Turn the other cheek".

Right now I know some of you are probably saying "HA! If someone pisses me off, I've got some choice words for them." Well don't forget you are still connected with that person whether you like it or not and you are still creating your reality even in the midst of the seeming chaos. To turn the other cheek means to go to your Spiritual Self, your Higher Self, your Christ Mind, or your Superconscious.

One way of achieving this is to focus your energy and attention on your Love faculty or the chest area where your heart is. Expressing Love during the chaos creates harmony and balance. It may be a challenge to do this at first but with practice it can be achieved.

Here is a video that the facilitator of the Spirit of Brotherhood, Brother Wade, sent out to the class on Tuesday. This video is an interview of Gregg Braden talking about the energy of the heart and how Love can change your circumstances. Enjoy!!!

God Is NOT The Author Of Confusion

God is NOT the author of confusion and if its true of God then its true of me. Some people don't understand the parable (and law) of reaping and sowing. Its so simple. What you put your energy or focus on, becomes real in your experience.

You reap what you sow.

If you plant apples seeds, you can't expect an orange bush to grow. Likewise, you can't sow seeds of disrespect and think that you will reap a harvest of respect. If you plant apples, then apples will grow. If you plant disrespect and disharmony, then you can expect disrespect and disharmony in your life. It has also been said as "What comes around, goes around."

Like I said in my post yesterday, we are always expressing God whether we are conscious of it or not. So if we know this, then wouldn't it make sense for us to focus on creating more harmony and joy in our lives and the lives of others instead of misery and chaos? When we go out of our way to make someone else's life miserable, ultimately we are going to make our lives miserable.

We are all connected.

If we all are Children of The Most High and Sons and Daughters of God, then obviously we are connected some kinda way if there is only one God. What we do to someone else, we are basically doing to ourselves.

A higher state of consciousness is to mentally focus on the faculty of Order. If we take a good look around there is order every where. From our little solar system with its Sun and nine planets (I still think Pluto is a planet. I don't care what the scientists say!), to an ant hill, there is order.

The planets don't work against each other. Jupiter as big as it is in comparison to the Earth is not trying to force its way to be closer to the Sun just because its bigger than the Earth. Jupiter does what it supposed to do. Also, I've never seen two ants from the same mound fighting against each other. If you drop a piece of bread on the ground, those two ants will do what it takes TOGETHER to bring that bread back to the rest of the mound.

Don't you want this type of order in your life? I know I do. So let's stop adding confusion in the mix. I'm about 200% sure adding more chaos and confusion is not what we are here on this planet to do and adding more will only lead to more sorrow and pain.

It's your choice...

Thanks Spirit and so it is!

I AM The Thinker That Thinks The Thought that Creates The Things

During my Spirit of Brotherhood class yesterday at Hillside Chapel and Truth Center, I had an "Ah ha!" moment. The facilitator of the meeting Brother Wade was inspired by Spirit (or God) to bring an article and share it with the class. The article had some key points on Metaphysics, Quantum Theory, and depression which peeked my interests. I was already on fire during the class but this article really brought everything home for me.

I had been studying Quantum Theory for almost a week so when I saw it mentioned in the article I knew it was confirmation for something bigger but I didn't know what for. As we continued to read the article out loud, we began to cover the topic of depression and how it is linked primarily to our thoughts. We then discussed that we as Children of God are creative beings and that we are creating all the time. We had mentioned this Truth before but it really didn't resonate with me until this class.

We are in essence creative beings and sometimes we create things we really don't want but attract to our experience through thought, feelings, actions, and reactions. Well, Monday I had a great day at work. I did a pretty good job at leading my team towards the company goals so I felt good about that. It wasn't until I got home later that evening that I began to feel...depressed.

I came to the realization that I was in a rut and was tired of the routine, predictable life I was living. I knew something needed to change but I didn't know what exactly. This state of mind lasted for a couple of hours. I knew I was fatigued but I'd been tired plenty of times but not to the point where I felt this kind of depression.

I knew how to cure it though.

I grabbed my smartphone and put on some old school Hiphop!

I knew that would make me feel better and it did because it took my mind to happier times and times when I was "creative" or I should say times when I was creating what I wanted to see manifest in my experience, even though I didn't know that's what I was doing at the time. So when we talked about depression in class last night, the bells, alarms, and sirens, all went off at the same time like I had hit triple 7 on a Vegas slot machine.

I received the payout!

I realized that I was depressed because I had not been consciously expressing my thoughts, meaning I was creating my experience BUT not intentionally. I immediately realized the source of my frustration and the depression I experienced the night before. I had not been consciously creating music or writing articles. These are things I enjoy doing that I haven't done in so long that bring me lots of joy.

At that moment I realized if it is my responsibility to let God express through me then I wasn't on my job. I was given the talent of writing...and I had buried it in the earth. I realized how happy I was when I was writing, recording, or performing music. I realized how much pleasure I had sharing my thoughts with others in the form of articles. I also realized that no matter what else came on my path, as long as I was expressing in these ways, I was content.

And because I was content and expressing myself constantly, I was successful in other areas of my life.

Let that sink in for a moment...

Because I was in a state of bliss from creating and expressing my thoughts and ideas, I was able to be successful in other areas of my life.

I was more confident. I was healthier. I was more attractive. I was more friendly. I had more money. I had more life! I had more passion about life. There is a quote that says all limitations are self-imposed. I knew I was responsible for my life however I didn't realize how I had trapped myself in a box. The idea light bulb was shining bright. I had my answer. I had elevated my consciousness to the next level and that was precisely what I had been asking for Spirit to reveal to me.

Thank you Spirit, in me, through me, as me, and around me in the name of Jesus The Christ, my Higher Self, and so it is!
